Here's one from my mailbox. Not sure if this worked, as I don't see the image. Yeah, it looks like it worked.

What I collect: GB Unmounted mint & Machin definitives Q.E.II Used commemoratives

I haven't collected many Victorian revenue (postal fiscal) stamps over the years but the image is of a recent one I purchased a few days ago. It's unmounted mint & in good condition, including the gum for its age. Issued in November 1864. Pale reddish lilac with a 16mm high anchor watermark. The SG number is F12. These stamps can be found on a variety of different coloured papers ranging from white to greyish to bluish.

Keep well away from water ! these are doubly fugitive ink. (ergo, all these "on piece")

You have a good selection of the revenues there. I think these have a special attraction for collecting, especially given their age.

An order from a Serbian seller, 3+ months in transit, arrived a little worse for its travels. Apparently quite wet along the way. The face of the enclosed stamp adhered to the plastic mount. What a mess.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Today's mail brought a pair of covers in an envelope with a bunch of stamps on it. I am thinking I need to start using bigger envelopes to use up my small face value stamps. The photo also includes a recent mailing with an auction catalogue. They too used up a lot of stamps.

This week, a couple of items arrived from Argentina,
Argentina, 2019. 100$ issue featuring Carlos Gardel, Tango Singer and Actor (dapper looking fella)
and then this one,
Front - Argentina, 2023. 1.000$ Jaramillo Petrified Forest National Park with syncopated perforations from the National Parks definitive series
Back - Argentina, 2016. 2$ Manzana from the stylised fruit series which also included grapes, cherries, oranges, etc.
If ever there was the desire to start something new, perhaps it would be the Argentinian National Park series, a collection of Argentina in general (got Antarctica covered) and or a study a postal rates given the country's inflation rate. So much opportunity, but only so much time...
Have fun and happy collecting!

I am trying to be a little more selective in my purchases. These arrived today. I am not an expert on Bahamian Cancels, but the One Pounder at least is not hand cancelled.

In this week's post I received this colourful package and thought to share before the stamps received the 'clip and soak' treatment,
Posted 08 April 2023, Quebec City, Canada and received 16 April 2023, Nadadouro, Portugal. Total travel time - 9 days
From one of the blocks used as postage, the 1994, XV Commonwealth Games stamp featuring the cyclists (Scott No. 1522), an on-line catalogue has a 'minor' variant listed for the issue. Following the link for the description of the variant, it turns out to be the omission of the gold foil (Scott No. 1522a)!
Minor variant??? Hmmmm, it brought a smile to my face...
Have fun and happy collecting!

stanley64 - VINCE- here are the 6 Canada stamps issued May 20, 1994 celebrating the Commonwealth Games held at Victoria, BC. in August 1994. They all have the normal Gold inscription. Only the 1521 and 1522 (Scott/Unitrade Canada Spec) appear to have the gold inscription omitted (1521a and 1522a) Unitrade puts the CV at $2,000 for the 50 cents and 2,500 for the 88 cents. René

Received yesterday from Australia. An attractive lot of stamps on a postal cover for a Botanical Congress, the top right stamp is printed on the cover. I particularly liked the Centenary of Federation pair. The usual orange postcode coding was applied caringly on a peelable yellow post-it note across the top, shown here below the cover

Quote "The usual orange postcode coding was applied caringly on a peelable yellow post-it note across the top," Extremely common, I get them on most of my mail...still unsure of why and how they do that ?

This envelope arrived today from an eBay seller that included a cover I will show on the appropriate thread. They sure used space on the envelope efficiently as well as used up a lot of surplus postage.

Please keep in mind this thread is intended to show the actual mail items that arrived at your mailbox and not the treasures carried within. An attention-getting piece of mail received todya from the USO seeking donations. Franked with a 3c and two 1c fruit stamps.
The envelope is quite innovative as the left end is die-cut allowing the flag to extend beyond the normal envelope end. I haven't opened the envelope not wanting to destroy its integrity of construction.
