Wahoo... look at what arrived today!
Canada Post stuck a darn-tooting' label right on top of the stamps! Fortunately, I was able to remove it without too munch damage. But one stamp was lost forever! The face of the stamp is permanently stuck to that darn label, and the back on the envelope.
BUT, But, but... oh dear, I think Londonbus1 , with his masses of packages being sent out around the world, sent me the wrong package. I opened it up & thought, "Holy Cow, this sure is a lot of extra stuff" he said he would send. But there's no Bulgarian! Who ended up with the Bulgarian? This one is a mixed bag of worldwide to keep me busy for some time, but if it is someone else's pack... There's a lot of Swedish postcards and covers, Israel & Great Britain covers, stamps from all over.
I also received a couple letters from SOR with stamps from the DDR, New Zealand and Germany. That alone will keep me busy for a while, Michael's even longer!

Wahoo... look at what arrived today!
Great news brightonpete !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope those 'squashed' corners did not do any damage to the contents. It's good to know the mail is getting through in these strange times. Also there has been no mistake. The Bulgaria lot is still in transit and will hopefully arrive soon. Some time ago from one of my sales lists you purchased a 'Mystery lot' and this packet is it !! The good thing about these lots is that you will find therein one item, card, set or cover that if you wish to re-sell should (on most occasions) re-coup the price you paid to buy it !! Making the rest of the items FREE !!!! The catch is I am not telling you what it is. renden also purchased one of these lots but I don't know if he found his 'prized' item ! So, even if you find just the odd item you wish to keep, you can rest assured it won't have cost you much, or even anything at all !! I have been doing these 'Mystery' lots on and off for years and long before TSF was born. I have another lined up for another list. All good fun. Enjoy, Londonbus1......

Wow! I completely forgot about that! I'll have to be careful appraising this lot. It'll keep me busy for some time!
Thanks very much, Michael! (Londonbus1 )
EDIT: BTW, everything inside looks to be in pretty good shape!

Here are some of the other recent items that have shown up in my mailbox. Starting at the top, a eBay seller from the UK sent me some Nigerian stamps with an Easter slogan cancel sprayed-on at the Royal Mail Medway Mail Centre on March 31, 2021. The stamp is a £2.55 Machin with security slits, issued in 2017, this is SG U2962 M17L. The second cover from the top has Sc. no. 4868 (49¢) Fort McHenry Flag and Fireworks lithographed self-adhesive coil stamp, with microprinted “USPS” in fireworks above flagpole, serpentine die cut 11 vert. (Sennett printing) with an Earth Day slogan cancel. The next two covers have Sc. no. 5343 US Flag stamps, Banknote printing, serpentine die cut 9½ horiz., microprinted “USPS” to right of sixth red flag stripe. Finally,Sc. no. 5433 Presort Star with no cancellation whatsoever.

Have you ever felt it was like Christmas or your birthday when a long-awaited stamp purchase arrived in your mailbox? Well, this dealer went out of his way to enhance that feeling by using 11 five cent stamps from the 1964 Christmas issue (Scott 1254-1257; Nov 9, 1964) to pay the postage.

The onslaught has begun, but just one package from Australia, with a raft (no stanley64 , not a gaggle of penguins!) of stamps, neatly cancelled and safely put away at the back of the package. Nice POSTAGE PAID cancel on the front.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. This letter was mailed on 5 May 2021 to my son and arrived in Raleigh,NC on 11 May.Really fast service. It has a sticker suivi notice and an unusual tracking number, neither of which I have seen before.Far quicker than previous letters which were sent registered..La poste recommande. Maybe I was lucky. The letter was then sent to Florida where my wife was visiting and made it to Ecuador yesterday, along with my other recent purchases.

I received an email today from Correos del Ecuador telling me I had a registerd letter to be picked up.Correos del Ecuador is in the process of liquidation and is only handling a huge backlog of undelivered mail. The letter was mailed from France on May 20,2020.I was unable to find any tracking info on La Poste website but according to the Correos del Ecuador site,it arrived in Quito on 26 February ,2021.No idea where it spent most of 2020.It was then sent to Guayaquil on March 29 ,2021 where it sat for over 2 months before any action was taken.Hopefully some of my other missing letters will eventually show up......

Actually, yesterday's mail... but a set of Peter's Café stamps from Portugal. coastwatcher alerted me to these stamps being offered on eBay, so I picked up the last set this chap from Portugal had. My name and coffee - goes together rather well if you ask me! I had to have them. They'll be mounted at the front of my International album.

Lost Mail? Found. Delivered!
This arrived in the post this week, almost three months since it was sent:
Original Postmark, SANTA ANA 3 APR 2021 Delivery Date, Nadadouro 2021-06-30
Without any additional markings, it is difficult to say where it has been. If only the postage stamps or envelope could tell the tale...
Happy collecting!

Backside of a registered letter from Madras (Chennai) in India to Germany. It needed one week to arrive, what is O.K. The stamps are affixed on the backside, what is quite normal in India. The water-activated sticker was bent,so that the stamp below, was not touched. Quite considerate !
Nice stamps with a India-Germany thematic, but unfortunately not cancelled. I think this is the fault of the sender, who does not care enough, when handing the letter to the clerk.

Not mine, but to a friend, from a sister of hers who's a nun in a monastery in Switzerland. Nice franking, with a 2018 railway station definitive and a very old (1963) Biel/Bienne definitive. It bears also a mark commemorative of the 700 years of the monastery (Estavayer-le-lac, Vaud). Cover to Begues (Catalonia, 25 km from Barcelona).

Backside of a registered letter from Madras (Chennai) in India to Germany.
The cover was actually sent from the city of Selam (11.66432°N 78.14601°E) which is 342km SW of Chennai. Nice stamps with a India-Germany thematic, but unfortunately not cancelled. I think this is the fault of the sender, who does not care enough, when handing the letter to the clerk. At least the stamps were not ruined by pen-cancel.

My latest order from the APS Stamp Store arrived yesterday. So far one item from it has been put away. I'll get around to the rest eventually!
Look at them stamps, all nicely cancelled. Well, would have been better getting the date on the stamps, but beggars can't be choosers!

millionaire, you know the place very well ! I was distracted by a cancel on the frontside of "Chennai-Customs". I have to admit, that Salem was unknown to me and that I am not familiar with the postal codes of India. Nearly fifty years ago I stayed for a few days in Ooty, what is actually not that far from Salem.(As I know now !) You are right, that modern stamps without gum are better than those with a pen cancel. But still, they will end in the garbage. Werner
