Use this site to post worldwide possible varieties... Robert
Here is a Newfoundland Scott 262 "seal stamp" I have 3 examples of what i have nicknamed "Rock on Ice" I am still trying to convince Unitrade Catalouge and N.S.S.C. Catalouge this is a good variety.
It is position 41 on the sheet.
Robert
If anyone out there has an example of this Rock on Ice, please post.

I do not have this variety, Robert WERT - It is always interesting to see your "findings" . Where I would have the most varieties would be in early France but right now I am working on Jugoslavia (Yougoslavia) and do not have the motivation to go back into France (where I spent 6 months working on a lot of varieties) - Thanks René

I should send you my 8 Thule cliché's to see what the differences, or at least the scans. I am trying to see what the differences are. Maybe one day I'll figure them out!

Hey, post your varieties here {and other members} if you wish and maybe i {we} can help. Robert If the varieties I find are simple I will post them but if they include a special Type, Shade etc. and request a special Catalog (ex: Maury for France of Y&T) I will collaborate instead by exchanges or e-mail with another member, outside TSF as if you do not have a handle on the variety you will not on a simple scan - it can be deceiving - Thanks Robert

Ascension Island 1953 Coronation issue with smeared ink. Mucky faced Queen!! Streaky into the oval frame by "CORONATION" , very spotty left hand 3d. value tablet I have to assume this is not a constant variety , Her Majesty would not be seen in public with a dirty face! ( or did she not shave the day of the portrait?) Anyway I have it on ebay at £1.99 as a curiosity , anyone??

vikingeck - perhaps that is a return to the native American chin tattoo art of the 19th Century?

Now that is a possibility, a homage to Canadian first Nations or the Maori of New Zealand maybe JeffS

More of those smudge-like marks as previously seen on the Queens chin, this time over parts of a SG#79a (Type III) of Bermuda. Found this the other day in that Commonwealth/Empire collection I am selling for a friend. Seeing the other post here reminded me I should put it up. So here it is !! 1934 issued, Perf 14. Watermark Multiple Script CA.

I suppose the smudges have to do with the ink not being quite dry as the next sheet arrives off the press. The ink is too wet or the ambient temperature is too warm, and as the ink forms a raised surface which can be smeared, this is a feature of intaglio, recess, engraved printing .

I found what I believe to be a minor variety today Mauritius 1950 KGV Pictorial 5c. Doesn't look any special at first glance. But I believe it has the 'Q' for 'O' variety: 'Q' for 'O' variety? Thanks to kgvistamps and his impressive website that made me aware this variety exists, as it is not listed in my St Gib. Does anyone have a more detailed catalog / reference for Mauritius where this is actually listed?

Glad to hear you like my flaws website. The Mauritius Q for O is listed in the Commonwealth Catalogue which was published by Murray Payne before they were sold to Stanley Gibbons. Here is a link to the site in case anyone else would like to visit. KGVI Stamps - Flaws Database
There are a number of potential flaws in this set because of the way it was printed. I don't have any details on the Mauritius set, but the Seychelles set which was produced the same way has a number of minor flaws. They are listed in "Seychelles Postage Stamps and Postal History" by H. V. Farmer. The book is out of print, so you have to buy it from a used book dealer if you want a copy.

Here is stamp from WALLIS that has an over print...The one in the Catalouge seems to have a space between the words "Iles" and 'Wallis"...But my stamp does not seem to have a space...Is this common..?

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Robert ( WERT) I have a few dozen that are identical to the one you have. That appears to be the norm.
