Hi, I am unable to post on the thread "Stamps Received: General". This appears to be the only one so far that I cannot "add" to. Is there a reason for this or is it a loading problem? Thank you martyn aka "Guyana1230"

That thread is in the Buy, Sell, Trade category, which is only accessible by those who have met full membership criteria. Furthermore, that thread is intended for members to acknowledge and/or express appreciation for stamps purchased from or traded with other members or received in a giveaway. If you received stamps from an online purchase or some other non-BST transaction, you shouldn't post about it in that thread.

Well waddya know! I wasn’t aware that “Stamps Received - General” was only for forum sourced stamps as the title would seem to indicate otherwise. Maybe there should be two threads - one for non forum acquisitions?

It is confusing when one relies on the Recent Thread (or Recent Posts) listing.
When one looks at the Forum's Home Page, it becomes more clear.
Several threads in the General Stamp Discussion category already exist for this purpose (i.e., Whatcha Been Stamping and Your Latest Acquisition).
For those who haven't done so recently, I suggest that a review of the Forum's basic structure may be time well spent.

I agree, Admin, with your intervention - I am at times culprit of some but in majority I will go up there and read - the search "powers" is pitiful and useless but the rest is clear as water - Than You René

I find the search function to be a very useful tool, when the appropriate parameters are used. If you don't like the inherent Forum search tool, try using the Google search (also accessible in the navigation bar).

For those who haven't done so recently, I suggest that a review of the Forum's basic structure may be time well spent. I HAVE gone over the structure several times - guess I didn’t study it as thoroughly as I should have. Maybe I should make flash cards? Maybe I’m getting old and senile and forgot this one? Maybe I’m just dense? Maybe I’m a ditzy broad? Just joking. (A little) But seriously, I’ve been posting and a member for a while now and the title of this thread confused me. How about simply adding a bit more description to vague titles to make it easier to ensure posts are where they belong? That might save time explaining the same common problems over and over. Simply amending this title to add the word “forum” would help. Making things idiot proof is often simpler than expecting said idiots to comply.

I've changed the title of the thread being discussed to "Stamps Received from Forum Members."

I've changed the title of the thread being discussed to "Stamps Received from Forum Members." That's much clearer. Thanks!
