I am primarily interested in philatelic research rather than collecting (although of course I do have some collections). I have written a number of articles about the early stamps of Mexico, the Dulos issue of Turkey, and a variety of miscellaneous topics such as recent postal forgeries of the Marianne stamps of France or whether the supposed Wituland "stamps" and covers are genuine. These articles have led me into several interesting areas such as the microscopic analysis of paper fibers which I used to confirm the date of reprints of certain Mexican stamps. Many of these articles can be read or downloaded from independent.academia.edu/FarleyKatz. Farley

Greetings from Texas, to you, too! I clicked on the link and noticed you have an interest in fossils. I've only found one ammonite, I'm sad to say, and it wasn't all that great. Back in the late '90s I used to spend a couple days every week fossil hunting on the Sulphur, south of Paris. If I hadn't moved away there's no telling what I could have found. I need to return for more hunting before that entire area becomes the new water supply for Dallas.

Welcome to TSF, Farley ( giolito)! I agree with Vince ( stanley64) that your status as more of a researcher than a collector sounds very intriguing, indeed. I will have to check out the link you posted. Enjoy your time with us, wherever it may take you! -Chris (aka Beryllium Guy)
