Hi all Found this in a box the other day but can find no record of the 1pf being overprinted in this way - any ideas? (Hope the upload works!) Thanks Steve

steve752, your stamp belongs to a group of 18 stamps, what were overprinted in 1948,but were not accepted by the main postal administration. It is listed by Michel under the no.I/II. My old Michel 2002/2003 lists it with € 200.- in used condition.I don´t think that price will have changed much in the meanwhile. However the Michel-price is for authenticated stamps only.As the original stamp is a very cheap one and the overprint is easy to counterfeit, forgeries mint and "used" are plentiful.

Salentin - many thanks - I'll try and find it in my Michel - it's probably a forgery on that basis!

Received today, I'm not sure if there was a cover (I see no signes of one having been attached, and there is "tissue paper" like back piece (I'm guessing to protect the gum). As the is no sigh it has ever been folded apart, I only scanned the reverse through the tissue like paper seemed interesting to me!

stainlessb Stan, the block of 8 has come from a stamp booklet. These would of course have adverts printed on the cardboard covers of the booklet. It looks like your tissue paper has picked up a mirror imprint off the cover. the pane would have been held in the booklet by a staple you can see the two puncture holes in the selvedge.

ah, now I see the staple holes. The printing is actually on the other side, but I don't want to fold and crease or risk having the tissue separate. It is indeed an advertisement
"Krankenversicherung- Billiger Als Sie Denken" which Google Translate results in "Health Insurance- Cheaper Than You Think"

I don't know if I'm allowed to post sections from catalogue pages- would be easier. Markenheftchen (booklet stamps) MH 50 issued in May 1947. It has 16 different stamps forming 2 H-Blatt (panes) of 8 stamps (H-Bl.123 and H-Bl.124). They are separated by a thin paper sheet on which are written advertisements. Sorry, I took the pictures in a hurry.

I don't know if I'm allowed to post sections from catalogue pages- would be easier. I think it is generally considered OK to post images that are excerpts from catalogues. I have done it on multiple occasions without any issues to date.

In a lot I bought recently, this pair was in it. I have not seen before and have no idea if it is Postal, or Revenue. If someone could please help, that would be great! If it is in Michel, just let me know where, thank you.

NSDAP is at that bottom (that's the Nazi Party). Therefore, I would think this would probably be a stamp showing dues had been paid (probably for a full year)
