If we get enough of the different types I will split the thread and take the Scout Posts to pastures new. We have a few country Scout labels but not one for all. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE.......UPDATE.......UPDATE........ I have changed the topic to include ONLY labels, Poster Stamps and sheets on the subject of Boy Scouts/Girl Guides. Local Scout Posts have gone here: thestampforum.boards.net/thread/7380/scout-posts-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I found these blocks from Latvia today whilst searching for something else (Isn't that always the way).

I think we can include Girl Guides in this topic can't we ? Yes, I think we can. Any objections ? Here's a modern one celebrating Girlguiding in East Lothian, Scotland.

Few more labels, all from the USA. I find them quite attractive.

UK's Scout & Guide Stamp Club were the organizers of the 1990 Scouts International Philatelic Exhibition. Held at Baden-Powell House in London 4-6 May during the big International Exhibition at Alexandra Palace so visitors were able to attend both events. A souvenir sheet was produced in Lithography to celebrate 90 years since the Siege of Mafeking of which Baden Powell played a part. The sheet shows two Siege stamps in Blue. Small quantities of the sheet were overprinted 'SPECIMEN' for special guests and staff. A souvenir card was also produced showing a Scout Bear delivering Mail !! The latter two items are quite scarce.

Timed to coincide with the big International Exhibition at Earl's Court in London, the 1980 International Scout Stamp exhibition was held at Baden Powell house in South London. The sheet below was produced as a souvenir and reproduces the 1/3d value of the GB 1957 Jubilee Jamboree (Globe & Compass) in Magenta. Exists also a sheet with the stamp in Bright Purple.

George Edward Wade (1869-1954), later Sir George and known professionally as George Robey was an English comedian, singer and actor who started in musical theatre. Here is the set of 12 Cinderellas depicting him in support of Scouting issued in 1912 along with a signed photograph that I came upon.

A few more. World Jamboree Holland 1937, The Boy Scouts Association crest, unidentified Boy Scouts, Girl Guides 1954 seal and Girl Guides Iceland 1962. The only help I can provide on the unidentified Boy Scouts cinderella in the middle is that it pertains to a Chinese country and is not Japanese. It reads from right to left, so that suggests that it was issued no later than in the 1950s, as I think both Taiwan (Republic of China) and mainland China (People's Republic of China) had switched to reading left to right by then. (I quickly tried to look up the dates that each country switched, but could not find that info easily.) If I were to surmise, I'd say that this came from Taiwan, as I would be surprised that the PRC would have permitted anything like an international scouting organization there at that time. But that's just a guess. My guess also is that if this had come from Hong Kong or Singapore, there'd be at least a little English on it, but again, that's just an assumption. I'm not sure, but perhaps khj could shed some light on this?

Philatarium is correct, the middle cinderella is from Boy Scouts of China (Taiwan), commemorating Boy Scout Day 1958 (which I assume would be March 5, but don't know if that applied in 1958). Clarification on the direction of horizontal script for Republic of China stamps -- they reversed the horizontal script direction on stamps to read "right to left" in 1998.

Boy Scouts of France This Cinderella is faded and has some damage but it must have some age. Siège Social apparently means Head Office and the address is 146 Montmartre, Paris

Three giant stamps from Boy Scouts of America showing Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. They must be part of a long set.
