This offer is only for my stamp forum friends - no one else has seen or picked over these stamp packets. I will be adding more packets on a regular basis so stop by and take a peek!
The international mail seems to be very slow, but for most North American and Western European countries the mail does get through so I'm going to open up my website for some simple packet trades.
I have a few hundred packets of lower value stamps on my website. I offer really generous trading terms often 1:5 or better. I'm looking for el cheapo common Ireland to flyspeck plus Bermuda for cancels and tons of other stamps. These are NO CATALOG trades - I have posted a picture of a pile of stamps then request a certain number in return. Easy peasy.
If you have those common Ireland gathering dust in your stockbook, why not swap them for something new? I accept duplication, too.
My website is a Proboards forum exactly like this one so you will feel right at home. The website is open - but if you register you gain access to my blog and occasional giveaway and you will be able to message me there.
You must spend a significant amount of your time dealing with duplicates (colnect, proboards, etc). I want to get organized to dispose of duplicates but would seem I would spend more time on that than acquiring stamps. On stamporama, there seems to be two types of posters - those who discuss stamps and others discussing the SoR sale system, The ones selling post little about collecting.
angore , yes this year I have spent a great deal of time organizing my duplicates but they were left disorganized and neglected for years so I’m playing catch up. I also broke up several large collections so that added to the time required. But, I’m getting close to having everything organized which really is a good feeling. Once I have a handle on this mountain of stamps the FUN begins! FYI, The packets are my way to save time.
Al, it really is worth the effort though. Trading is a great deal of fun and a nice way to make long term Philatelic friendships AND fill some holes in your collection.
I’m only doing the packet trades right now to make a bit of room. I’d like to wait until mailing is more reliable before starting time consuming catalog value trades.
Today I uploaded bargain packets of early Japan and New Zealand private posts for trades. I ran into problems with my photo uploade so I ended up wasting several hours trying to fix it. Finally found a workaround. I will be uploading more Germany packets tomorrow.
I had a random visitor to my website pop in and offer to take ALL the freebies and almost freebies. Sheesh! I declined of course. Those are gifts for trading friends not moochers. I am ONLY trading with friends from here right now anyways.
Just to clear up any misconceptions, I’m only offering my packets for your cheapie common Irish right now and a few others. I’d like to wait until the mail system is more reliable before swapping pricier stuff. My website is where I upload only packets and things like covers and PNCs that you can’t list on Colnect and a bit of this and that. BUT I promise that when I start doing catalog value trades that you all get dibs on my Colnect stock!
