What I collect: Mostly Canadian and European stamps about art / science / landscape

Dear TSF community,
Let me introduce myself: My name is Linda. I am a Canadian of Taiwanese descent living in Montreal for more than 20 years. I can speak and write in English, French, and Mandarin.
I deem myself a 'part-time' stamp collector, as I am rather selective in my collecting effort. My stamp collecting hobby is kind of a family tradition. My siblings and I used to carry a stamp album that was passed down to us from our parents. It contains used stamps that were cut off from the envelopes. Once moved to Canada, I retain the habit of letter writing, so I got plenty of chances to buy stamps. But the event that made me into a stamp collector is the sight of a beautifully designed stamp of Fermat's Last Theorem in a maths book. As a visual artist then majoring in pure maths, I like beautiful things. I was so profoundly moved by it that I started collecting maths/science-themed stamps for some years, before enlarging my horizon to include other types of stamps.
That said, other themes I collect include art / literature / music / landscape. My focus is mainly on Canadian and European stamps, but I do love stamps from all over the world.
The main reason why I want to become a registered member of this forum is because I have some questions to ask, questions for which I couldn't find any answer by searching on the web (more about these in separate thread).
Pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Welcome, Linda ! It appears that our topical/thematic board may be of greatest interest to you. You may now post in most other areas so please don't hesitate. The Forum's FAQ board provides a good amount of useful "how-to" information so you may want to make that area one of your early visits. If you have questions or encounter problems, please don't hesitate to contact me or one of the other Moderators.
