Im looking at completing an Italian Castles set and I have a couple of questions. What is the difference between these pairs below: These two: These two: These two: There two: Are they just identical reprints? The spacing looks slightly different, in that case, are they misprints? Are they worth dedicating a spot to? Does anyone know if this series had an official name in Italian? Thanks

While in Colnect, click on the "Click to see variants" links for each stamp type and you should have your answers on the differences.

But the ones I've listed above don't and the scans are so similar that the differences could be attributed to condition of the indium stamp or settings on the scanner.

Click on the variants link and then look at, for example, the dates of issue, perforations, and imprint descriptions.

Maybe you have something different in mind, what I cannot see. But when I look to colnect cat.variations, all mentioned pairs differ in their perforation. 14,25 x 13,25 versus 13,25.

The official name of this long definitive 1980 - 1992 is "Castles of Italy". Is a complicated series with variations of printing, watermark and perforation and also fluorescence. This could be helpful. www.ibolli.itI enclose copies of the specialized Sassone, (I don't know how clear the photos ?) perhaps with a translator ?

Thanks Rex, in that case, I think I'll just look out for one of each denomination from the whole series, including the coil issues, and not worry about variations.
