What I collect: Portugal and former Portuguese colonies (until 1975). I'm starting with the collection of locally issued stamps or occupation stamps (like WWII).

Hello,
About 45 years ago, my Father gave me 2000 stamps from all over the world and that's how I started collecting stamps, dividing them by countries.
When I started working I never had much time to dedicate. However, I started collecting Portugal in the mid-1980s.
Today, counting on the collection that my Father left me, I collect Portugal and former Portuguese colonies (until 1975), mainly Mozambique.
Now that I have more time, I started to organize the collection and build a database in MS Access for registration and control.
I hope to come, in this forum, to be able to exchange ideas and philatelic products.
Regards José Nascimento

Hello, José ( jln) and welcome to TSF! I also started collecting similar to the way that you did: my father gave me a mixture of world wide stamps and an album back around 1967, and I have been collecting ever since. I look forward to seeing some posts of your favorite material. Enjoy your time with us! -Chris ( Beryllium Guy)

As soon as I can, I will put here some of the stamps from Mozambique (a few) and Portugal (the one I pay more attention to).
I am new to these forum things, so excuse me, some bad action and correct it.
I have been collecting stamps for a long time, but only now I have the time (retired) to pay attention, as it should be.
To start, I looked for applications on the Internet that would allow me to manage my collection. I found everything but they were either too complicated, or too expensive or too inaccurate.
So, I started by creating an application in MS Access to try to manage my collection, want list and exchange list.
I am at the beginning and since I am not a programmer (I do not even realize it), I would appreciate you to evaluate what is done and suggest improvements.
I thank you for your help.
The application and its images are on a very simple website that I created. Although the images are already in installable setup, the main part - the application - is still in a zip file and must be extracted to the correct directory: c: \ Collections \ Philately \, otherwise it will not work because the MS Access databases are linked.
Thanks in advance

I started to organize the collection and build a database in MS Access for registration and control. Welcome. I'm just starting out in the hobby and thinking I should start some type of database or spreadsheet or something to track my collection while it's still small. I don't have any experience with MS Access. One of the things I hope to learn from this forum is what others do to keep track of their collections. I'm sure there's a thread somewhere.
