Apparently, we were still missing a thread for Saxony stamps! So here let's inaugurate it with MiNr. 8I, 1/2 groschen grey:

New acquisition today, Sachsen MiNr. 12a, 5 neu Groschen, red, issued in 1856: It looks like a re-entry or double transfer or the like. I first thought it was a forgery but it checks out except for features obscured by the printing error.

hrdoktorx, the print-picture of the letters looks strange to me.
Is this some kind of double-print ? For comparison here mine:

Yes, it does appear to be a double entry. I do have a certificate of authenticity that came with the stamp, though.

It is a nice stamp and the double-impression caught my eye when you first posted the image. Ah, the classics, they do have their appeal...
Have fun and happy collecting!

How on earth, could an expert not see and mention the double-print ?

I don't know the terms very well... is a certificate of authenticity the same as a certificate of expertise?

Since questions were raised, here is the certificate that accompanied the stamp. It does bear the mention "Schmitzdruck", which I guess is the German word for double entry.

hrdoktorx, "Kurzbefund" ? I don't know how it can be translated, but it is certainly a form used by BPP experts, Tilo Rismondo being one of them. What puzzled me is Mi 12a (red), in the Michel 2019 catalog the color "a" is "dunkelbraunorange", but the expertise being from 2000, the names of the colors in Michel have been changed.

From my recent "shopping-spree":
Issued 1856,this stamp completes my Saxony-collection.
That does not mean, that I own all stamps of Saxony. The no.1, 3 Pfg.isssued on July 1st,1850 is out of my reach. It is amazing: 500.000 of that stamp were printed,463.118 were sold, the remainders were incinerated. (while of the stamp shown above,"only" 250.000 were printed)
