So noob question but I'm wondering how people add stamp info to their albums if they use vario pages? I'm thinking making little info flags would mean taking up a lot of room and more pages in the long run. So instead I'm playing with the idea of printing up an info/inventory and putting them in my albums with protective sheets? I use lighthouse binders and varios so I can move things around pretty easily.

I make labels in Pages on my iMac, your if you have a PC you could used Word. Any text editor would work. I add the info, then shrink the font down to a very small size. Print them out, slice them up & voila, neat little ID tags for the stockbook. Or Vario pages. You could also shrink down the flags to fit the same small size square for ID'ing your stamps.
There's all kinds of ways of doing that!

Very good idea. I've seen handwritten notes but small flaggies are prob best. I don't need much info myself, just numbers and year. I initially place country sorts into Varios. labeling is pretty minimal Worrd and a paper cute, which isa inserted into the Varios
- first is year, then (if I have a lot of dupes, I will print labels for Sc/Y&T/Mi # and even types if thats how far I've gotten) other wise, just year of issue
after that (hopreully) it's a page with mounts for those stamps selected as "best" examples
I find many of my Vario pagesw are an ongoing "refining" effort

You could insert small paper slips the same height as the stamps: (ideas here is to cut at the dotted line) Can be as wide and elaborate as you want.

Hello hijabihomegirlHere you can do a lot of creative tings. But I would recommend you to experiment until you find a 'label design' that you are pleased with, bot visually and practical. Then stick to it. (I must admit I have not done that yet ) Please post image of your labels-designs during your work. Remember that printing with black background look's nice, but use a lot of ink/toner. I need to get on with this myself.

Here are some examples I did. The first is a label behind the stamp on same row. The bottom has a label in the same pocket above the stamp. This has an 8 row sheet with the label below the stamp row. Now, if you have an open system (meaning you can add stamps in between existing stamps) then you have to plan for growth so leave spaces so you can just redo a label for a row.

As an alternative to little labels, DJCMH posted an interesting alternative in another forum. He creates "key pages" which are then inserted between the Vario pages. For example one of his key pages (posted with permission): And here is a key page inserted into a Vario album.
DJCMH uses AlbumEasy to create his pages, but you could of course use any software that you are comfortable with. Clive

I love that idea. I'm thinking something like that with bits of info and history of the stamps. It mans adding more pages to my albums and eventually buying more binders BUT...

I am trying to ceate an albun that is three things at the same time: A History Book, a Stamp Catalogue and a Stamp Albun. However, it has been so hard! I would like to create some pages explaining the historic context os the issued stamp, the story of the emission, with varieties and curiosities, and space to show various places and dates of cancelation... Am I going crazy?
