What I collect: Worldwide

Post by djcmh on Sept 23, 2020 13:02:42 GMT
From Columbus Ohio, greetings from DJCMH! I want to thank clivel for alerting me to the existence of this forum, I was not aware of it until he sent me a request to use an image I had posted on another forum for a thread here. Many familiar names I see from other Stamp Collecting fora, so many of you know of me (whether that is a good or bad thing is another question ) but a quick bio I'm 49 years young and have been collecting since I was in elementary school, introduced to the hobby by my father. Grew up on the eastern shore of Lake Ontario in New York, in the snowbelt north of Syracuse, so had to have some hobby to keep myself entertained when you get two feet of snow dumped on you in less than 24 hours. Worldwide collector here, with special love for Malaysia-Singapore and Turkey, and love New Issue stamps from all over the world. Have been a member of the APS since the mid-1990s (#173088). Have had several careers in my life, but currently am a night manager for a major grocery retail chain here in Columbus. Work night shifts, so tend to be online on nights off in middle of night. Some of you may recognize my username from Colnect - since April 2018 I have been the Stamp Catalog Coordinator at Colnect. Glad to be here and look forward to lots of interesting discussions.

Welcome to TSF! While I graduated from OSU in 1974, it seems that I attended Papa Joe's and the Varsity Club. Your status now allows you to post in most other Forum areas. Should you have questions or encounter problems, send me a message and I'll try to assist.

Hi, djcmh, and welcome to TSF! I was born and raised in Ohio (Cleveland), but I have been living in Europe for the past 2-1/2 years, first in France and now in the UK. The story of your start into stamp collecting sounds familiar to my own, so it seems that we already have things in common. Anyway, welcome again! -Chris ( Beryllium Guy)

Welcome to this forum djcmh. I certainly recognize you from another forum and I, for one,can guarantee it is a good thing 😊 Since last time we 'met' I have only been active on this forum, simply because of all the knowledgeable, humble and friendly members and admins here. Looking forward to see more of your amazing work with your DIY setup on Vario pages. Jon

Welcome to The Stamp Forum (TSF) djcmh ! I must admit, curious about the choice of avatar ;-) For now though, I look forward to hearing a tale or two, especially vis-à-vis the Turkish issues (looking on colnect, there are some beautiful stamps there). So please, pull up a chair, there is plenty of room... Again, welcome and happy collecting!

My avatar is the recent stamp from the Netherlands honoring Martin Garrix, one of the Netherlands leading electronic music DJs and producers. My username DJCMH comes from my having been a DJ in Columbus OH for many years (and I still spin tunes from time to time) and my specialization is in electronic/house/trance music.
