I don't know much about them in general, but I liked this example.
Post any you may wish to share, and something about them if you are knowledgeable. Google translate tells me

In my grand-mother's stash of envelopes where she kept her stamps (hence the red crayon writing on them), I found a few examples. The first one is this cover mailed on 10 June 1958 from La Rochelle and with a machine cancel advertising postal bonds:

Another example, mailed January 2 nd, 1958 from Asnières-sur-Seine, with the cancel advertising the new telephone information number (in the old style "three first letters of a word + 4 digits"): More tomorrow...

Two examples of touristic machine cancels, from the same source as yesterday. The first one is mailed from Cherbourg on March 28 th, 1955, and advertises its port and leisure activities. La Saire and La Hague are two neighbourhoods of Cherbourg. The second one is from Granville, mailed on December 28 th, 1957. Granville is the first seaside town north of Brittany above Mont-Saint-Michel, hence the cancel advertising the largest tides in Europe.

I believe the French call such pictorial cancel slogans , “ flammes”. They do. Since it is not my collecting forte, the term had escaped me.

Two more examples of French machine cancels from my stash: Top row, mailed from Paris (postmark reads "Tri and Distribution N o16": sorting and distribution center #16), on July 26 th, 1958, with the machine cancel advertising the Peruvian exhibit at the Petit Palais in Paris. The cover is mailed to Denneville-Plage, a small seaside village in Normandy where my family (still) has a vacation house. The village is just across from the island of Jersey, which you can see on good weather. And, as is said in Normandy, the weather is good several times a day! Second row, mailed from Rethel (Ardennes) on January 8 th, 1958, with a local touristic cancel.
