Following Michael's (Londonbus) indications, I'm starting this thread on Philatelic Exhibition medals. Through the years, I've adquired many of them for participating on stamp exhibition, being jury, being friend of the organisation or, just buying them as I liked. Most are from Catalan exhibitions.
I'm starting with one that I bought yesterday at our thrift shop in Gràcia (Barcelona). it's a rather generic medal showing Spain's firtst stamp (1850's "6 Cuartos") with back engraving for the 1954 edition (5th) of the Gràcia Philatelic Exhibition.

For 52 years since 1967, the Barcelona Water Supply Company Employees Philatelic and Numismatic Club, has held an exhibition using an special postmark and minting a nice medal. Both items show fountains of Barcelona city. This year, due to covid, it was discontinued, lets hope that it would be possible to do the 2021 eddition. I don't have all of them, but a lot, being a friend of the club.
On 2019, the medal showed a XIX century fountain in plaça Molina (no connections with myself!), in the now Barcelona district of Sant Gervasi de Cassoles. When the fountain was built, it was an independent town.

Here are two that I was awarded in our annual Congress of the Association of Scottish Philatelic Societies Exhibitions. I have half a dozen of these from various years , most recently in 2019 , for the issues of Samoa 1877 , the “EXPRESS” which I contributed to on the Forum a year ago when I first joined.

From 1970 up to the early 2000s the Cercle Filatèlic i Numismàtic de Barcelona (Barcelona's Philatelic & Numismatic Club) held its yearly exhibition on April 23rd (Saint George's Day). First, under the auspices of Barcelona's provincial authorities and, after 1978, under those of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalonia's Governement). From 1976, there was minted a medal, showing a representation of Saint George taken from a well known Catalan artist or monument. For 1976, it was chossen a painting by Montserrat Gudiol (Barcelona, 1933-2015).

On September 1998 we (the Catalan Philateic Federation) organised the Spanish Philately Championship. The venue was the Estació de França (France's railway Station). It was my only implication on Spanish philately.
The medal, shows Canaletes Fountain, at the top of the Rambles.

December 2001 Tarragona's Modern Philately Exhibition, Tarraco'01. The medal shows the Roman aqueduct near Tarragona, whose Catalan name is "Pont del diable" (Devil's bridge). "Tarraco" is the name Romans gave to the Catalan city of Tarragona (100 km South of Barcelona) when they founded it, about year 290 B.C.

Although, considered by other Iberian nations as "too serious and Spartan-minded", Catalans are a Mediterranean people and enjoy beautiful things.
This medal, is from the Catalan National Stamp Exhibition, held at Girona (100 km N. of Barcelona) on April 22-25, 1994. It was dedicated to the writer Josep Pla (Palafrugell, Catalonia, 1897- Llofriu, Catalonia, 1981) and the medal has his portrait. It was my first "serious" participation on a stamp exhibition.

For more than 50 years, the philatelic club of Santa Coloma de Gramenet (close to Barcelona), has held a yearly stamp exhibition. Fot he 2012 eddition, they depicted "Torre Balldovina" one the town's landmarks.
"Torre" stands for tower in Catalan. This was built on the XI century, when Santa Coloma de Gramenet was not far from the Southern border with the Islam. In fact, in 985 AD it was the last major attack on Barcelona's plain, being rebuked by Barcelona's count Borrell II. Santa Coloma lies North of river Besos, the Modern Northern boundary of the city of Barcelona. The Torre Balldovina, is now a museum, which I've visited many times, as the stamp exhibition is held there. You can, as well, step into the XI century tower and go up to the top. Interesting.

1988. Cercle Filatèlic i Numismàtic de Barcelona Stamp Exhibition
It reproduces a tile composition from the Barcelona's Casa Terrades (better known as "Casa de les Punxes or "Spiky House") a 1905 Modernist house by Josep Puig i Cadafalch. On Rosselló street.
On the Saint George's picture there's the text "Saint patron of Catalonia, give us back our Freedom". Ironically there was a station of the Spanish political police during most of Franco's era (1939/75). Luckily, it was dirty, almost unreadeadable and Spanish police don't understand our language. But, I was shocked when (on the late 70s and with the police still there) I discovered the text...
