I don't know where to put this, so it's going here. I'm actually testing my method of uploading images from a scan sent to me via email and saved in my photo program. I can't seem to get them oriented the right way. I want to see if there's an option to do that in the uploading process or before. On the stamp front... this is #428 of the Provincial Flowers series. Fireweed of the Yukon Territory.

A simple option is available in most apps to re-orient the stamps. But one can do this easily enough in the scanner software. Maybe hubby can figure that out to save you time and effort!

polarbearYour "process" seems complicated and time consuming - Hubby will soon get tired of this so I propose you get yourself a scanner Cheers ! René

renden I have a feeling you’re right, but this might be his way of getting into stamps and the stamp world. Far be it from me to discourage that! He’s off checking the scanner now to see if he can reorient the horizontal stamps back to horizontal brightonpete . Thanks for reorienting the current image Londonbus1 !

Here's the same image at 600 dpi. The last was only 400 dpi and through the vinyl Vario page window. I'm trying to get an excellent quality image for you all...

Is there a limit to or suggestion/guideline for the resolution or dpi for photos on the boards? What's best for viewing? DH claims the 600 dpi scan slows down the process ("but we have nothing but time" - we're retired), but he'll still do it. Honestly, everyone, when I get this figured out I'll post more Canadian stamp flower images.

These are at 400 dpi resolution. I hope that’s fine for flyspeckers. Here we have Canada #429 and a block of #508-511.

Polarbear,
nice clear images on last post. I can see a lot of detail but then I am not a flyspecker.

Agree with dgdecker - David - am not a flyspecker also (I try at times) you could scan at 300 dpi and it would take less time if you post, be under 1MB - great pics !! René

Thanks dgdecker and renden! We’ll try 300 dpi and see how it goes. The less storage we use the better!

Okay, we tried 300 dpi and it looked fuzzy on the zoomed in single stamp shots, so we are scanning at 400 dpi. Hubby says the files are about 2 MB. So...now back to flower stamps from Canada! These are some duplicates I own. More of the Provincial Flowers and Coats-of-Arms series...#419, 420, 421 on the top row. #422, 424, and 425 in the middle row, and #427 on the bottom row.

That’s it for now! Any other floral stamps of Canada I’ve missed? My Unitrade catalog is a 2015, so there could be some nice ones since then. Post away folks!

I can think of a couple of older Canadian flower stamps not yet shown by you (there are a bunch that started showing up in the last 20 years or so, including a whole set of flower definitive coils in various face values). First, the low-value flower definitives from the late '70s / early '80s had one more in the series, this jewelweed stamp which was issued in 1978. Next, there was another stamp issued to celebrate that flower show in Montreal, this time in 1981. And finally, I'm sure you realize there are some more provinicial flower & coat of arms stamps, so here's one of the ones you're missing - my home province, Alberta (also missing are British Columbia and your province, Ontario).
