What I collect: The World...just printing and mounting as I go...call me crazy!

Beginning in 2005, Germany started issuing a series of definitives of depicting flowers. The recent lots I have picked up on eBay have had a number of these stamps in many different denominations and with many different flowers on them. I had bought a large batch of German kiloware probably more than 10 years ago now and I still have a lot of these stamps on paper, sorted into a clear plastic small parts holder. They actually have dust on them! So, I have decided to get these finally soaked, sorted and catalogued. They certainly are a colorful and interesting lot of stamps.

Tonight I sorted through piles of German Flowers definitives, dividing them into lick and stick and self-adhesive piles in order to find one stamp! I found it and it is the stamp on the right of the two stamps in the lower center of the photo. The stamp is the self-adhesive version of the 65c Sonnenhut flower stamp issued in booklet form in January 2009. The Sc. no. is 2422. It is, unfortunately, damaged but it will manage to fill the space for a little while until another comes my way.

I just realized I inadvertently (or maybe subconsciously) picked out another from the piles that fills another empty space on my pages. The Sonnenblume or Sunflower in English is Sc. no. 2319. This stamp will go nicely in the empty space below!

I like this set too. Very nice, simple design. I have both the 65¢ and 95¢ stamps, but am missing a fair number of others. One day....

Flowers - issued since January 2005Michel # see link Briefmarken Schneider List of Flowers with Michel #
Here are the flowers I have collected so far. A lot are still missing. These are only the stamps with perforation. Many of the flowers exist as self adhesive stamps, too. In addition there are stamp booklets with partially imperforate stamps. and here some stamps I only have on covers

Compared with older stamps, where the hand of the engraver was a key point, modern stamps could seem mostly like cards or photos. Nevertheless, some of them could be simple and attractive the same, like in this issue... I will not start opening another collection, but this, like the machin (german flowers are much more easy), or the french Marianne, could be one... BTW. There was another similar post... thestampforum.boards.net/thread/8064/germany-flowers-definitives-2005

oh yes you are right ameis33 there is another thread with the flowers. Because you were asking yesterday, I thought that no one has shown the flowers yet - mea culpa! Perhaps Admins can put the threads together? Thanks! I don't think it's a big challenge to get the flowers complete. I just haven't bothered so far, because as of 2005 I only collect what I get on envelope from West Germany.

I hope the list of stamps in this series will be helpful (until 2019).
