No television show could keep me transfixed for 8 hours like the BBC did today. What an amazing send off from London and Windsor. Nothing can do justice for what she did for the world!

A First Day Cover for the 25th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain stamps issued on 13th September 1965. The cover has been produced "old school" as a Registered Cover sent from Trafalgar Square Branch Office WC2 to Dawson Creek, BC Canada. The total value of this long set, 4 shillings, was insufficient to pay the registration fee so a further 3d stamp, for the Salvation Army Centenary, was added to the reverse. Backstamped with marks from Dawson Creek and Vancouver for the 15th September. The Registration label is for WC1.

All Will be interested in others views and thoughts around the below 2 covers. The covers themselves are identical in illustration and postage date produced by Theydon Bois Philatelic Society and commemorating 1853 1953 7 April Centenary of the Village Post Office The first having a 1 1/2 d stamp the second having a bisect 3d stamp. So the postage rate at the time was 2 1/2d so 1) The first cover to the London address is underpaid? and 2) Why a bisect stamp showing no value at all to a local Theydon address As can be seen both stamps are cancelled by the local Theydon Bois postmark so my first thought is that they managed to get thru with the under rate and bisect stamp as having been cancelled locally. Will be interested in the thoughts of others Geoff (GBCC) www.gbcovercollector.co.uk
