A fellow member of my local stamp club has this 1d Red KGV in his collection of varieties on Australian KGVs. You will notice that the Right Hand Value has been obliterated and has a Black X over the top. (Sorry about the Picture quality, it was taken on my mobile phone.) I was just wondering if you could please explain? Thanks in advance Roos

To me it looks like at the time of printing someone got very bored when retouching and inked out the value tablet.
Someone at a later stage in the printing process corrected the error with a black cross.
When I was very young my Great Grand Fathers friend worked with the printing of KGV's and KGVI's and told me that the people in the printing process were very aware that printing flaws from printing and perforating flaws were of value and people did things to try and make money in the stamp making areas.
I am very interested in the comments on this one.
Thanks for posting roos

Whoops, saw this a few months too late.
I think it is someone just playing silly-buggers with an ink & stamp kit. I don't know of any official obliterations like that.
