Anyone better with revenues than me? These were in a packet of stamps that were mainly the 1920’s red commemoratives...some of my favorites. Pics coming soon courtesy of Chris. Thanks for his help throughout this thread. US Revenue stamps found in the box: $2 Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Mortgage stamp; Non-Denominated Customs Service stamp; 1-cent IRS Proprietary stamp; 1-cent Ohio Cosmetic Tax stamp

So can I assume that these Minkus plate block pages are worthless? All of the plate blocks...which I am harvesting...are inside glassines, which have been attached to the pages with a bit of transparent tape. And I think you can guess the condition of the tape and the marks it left behind. The stamps, however, are post office fresh and unhinged. Not true plate blocks, but very nice blocks of four, covering come prexies to the late 50’s. Is there any reason to save the album pages? Same with this small 1951-vintage Harris Adventurer album...a small, soft-bound album that appears to a geared towards young beginner collectors. Apparently H.E. Harris, back in the day, sold currency notes as well as stamps. I found these, still in the approval glassine. Interesting, although probably not worth very much.

And where is Manchukuo? Found a bunch of stamps from there. I don’t collect Asian countries, so these are a mystery.
I’ve pretty much gone through the entire box. The WW material was mostly disappointing. Lots of envelopes for different countries, but all of the envelopes contained very common stamps , and there was moisture damage in some of it. The good stuff I’ve shown in this thread was the undamaged goodies. I did salvage a lot of unused (non) plate blocks. Some will replace used stamps in my album, but must will end up being used as postage.
This was a fun hunt. I wish I could be blessed with something like this more often.

daveg28, this is from Wikipedia: "Manchukuo was a puppet state of the Empire of Japan in China and Inner Mongolia from 1932 until 1945. It was first a republic, but in 1934 it became a constitutional monarchy. It had little international recognition and was under the Unofficial control of Japan."

As I get near the end of the treasure hunt, I find an air mail that has eluded me! No, not a zeppelin. Wouldn’t that be nice? No, it’s just a US Scott C37. Don’t know why this one has proved so difficult , but now I have one.
