Thanks, everyone, especially gatodiablo for the coffee posts! I need to buy a booklet of those coffee stamps. I'll have to dig through my Indonesian collection to find some JAVA! (or SUMATRA ) BOB

Not being a coffee drinker, since I was converted to tea,the first time I visited Ceylon, and also not a collector of North-Vietnam,I was quite surprised to learn, that Vietnam is the second largest coffee-producer worldwide, only second to Brazil.
Issued March 1st,1962 (from a set of 5)

And a couple more from Colombia. It may not be surprising that Colombia issued a lot of stamps featuring coffee - the country is the fourth largest producing nation, and its coffee is generally regarding as being high quality.

In or about 1893, New Zealand offered advertising space on the backside of stamps. Here is one for Crease's Coffee. Apparently, the idea of licking the ads didn't gain traction.

At the time, they probably did not have the technology, but if they did this today and had the gummy side taste like coffee too, I'm sure the idea would catch on!

The theme of this stamp from the Netherlands is supposed to be checkers, but it sure looks like a cup of coffee to me.

El Salvador, Scott 570, showing coffee bags at the pier. Coffee still arrives in jute bags weighing 69kg (152 pounds). It is a tiring day when a pallet of coffee shows up at my roastery! It also happens that my newest coffee is from El Salvador. Delicioso!

Not a fan of Keurig unless one uses reusable pods with freshly roasted coffee. Otherwise, those pods take a huge environmental toll..

It comes from St. John's Newfoundland of all places! They also sell beans. Best Keurig I've tasted, not at all bitter, even when using the "STRONG" setting on my machine. Their pods are fully compostable. Are there any Keurig stamps out there?
But that doesn't beat freshly ground beans, done in a "Clever." I have been drinking the Nicaraguan "La Casitas" from the plantation of Luis Balladarez. Next up will be Ethiopian Lekempti.

You can google it, but k-cups are single-use non-recyclable plastics that end up in the landfill. p

I have seen recycle K-cups (the casing is a different plastic) but given they are messy to clean it becomes a moot point.

The k-cups I get are recyclable. Peel off the lid, remove the grounds and filter & recycle the cups. I put out recycling every 2 or 3 weeks, so sometimes there is a stack of cups in the bin!
And it's not a chore doing so!

This scan was planned for the "houses"-thread. But Wikipedia "told" me,that house "Zum Kaffeebaum" (coffee-tree) is the oldest café in Leipzig. It was not mentioned when it was built, but it was converted into a café in 1711. It is obviously a famous place, guests include Napoleon Bonapart and Bill Clinton, Johann Sebastian Bach and Liza Minelli.Just to name a very few. The building also houses a coffee-museum. Right now it is closed for renovation.
Stamp issued Feb.22nd,1962.
