What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

More rooting through the desk and I came across some stamps and cinderellas that i have not been able to identify. As Google has evolved it is nice what one can find now. 3 identified but this is the only one of consequence. This information was taken from another site: "T.B. Morton & Co. was a British company active in Romania but established in Constantinople (current Istanbul). Founded in 1855 to carry mail from Constantinople to Romanian and Black Sea ports, rightly considered a private post, Morton issued rudimentary stamps from 1869 on. The second issue for instance showed a steamer flying the (presumably) Red Ensign." Tempted to list it on eBay but I think for now I will slot it in with my Great Britain collection.

Nice stamp. It is a local/private issue of the Ottoman empire. Issued in 1870. Listed in Isfila. My version (very old!) lists it at app. (converting exchange rates) $130 mint & $265 used. The cancellation on this stamp looks fake to me - very common/forged cancellation. Looks to be in good condition. A keeper! (But in Ottoman/Turkey - not Britain!)

I thought the cancel was questionable. I would have acquired it sometime in an old collection or box lot. I see 2 sold recently on eBay, one for around 100.00 Canadian and the other for about 40.00 cdn. I am more apt to remember where it is if I keep it in my GB album rather than lost in my 6 volume Scott international albums
