Christmas 1990, featuring the Annunciation, Nativity and Epiphany. Issued December 3, 1990, Scott 949-951.
Another missing issue, this one was for the 500th anniversary of European postal communications. If I was a collector of these cards back then, I’d be lodging complaints!

Winter Traditions is the theme for this set. Celebrating St Nicholas’ Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Issued December 3, 1990, Scott 952-954.
Where are the presents and the tree on Christmas? Why the kids celebrating & Mom is in bed? And New Year’s day looks OK, kids visiting old folks?

The theme for Europa in 1991 was European Aerospace. This set shows the “Olympus” telecommunications satellite, and for the weather nerds (like me) out there, “METEOSAT” a weather satellite. Issued on March 4, 1991, Scott 955-956.
When I was posted in Germany back in the mid to late 80’s, Deutscher Wettedienst (DWD) handed out a number of postcards picturing an almost clear day over Continental Europe, with an excellent Low weather system over the UK. It was taken on August 6, 1986 at 1352UTC. Too bad METEOSAT didn’t take the photo, it was by the American satellite: NOAA-9. An awesome photo in any case!

The new royalty: Princess Marie and Prince Hans Adam II. Issued September 2, 1991, Scott 967-968.
Odd, Liechtenstein Post assigns Princess Marie a lesser value than the Prince, yet lists Him first in their descriptions. Typical of a patriarchal system! Also, another missing issue. Why did LP skip making maxi-card's of so many issues? The previous issue, the "Last Action of Liechtenstein's Military (1866) is missing from the lot. Numbers of the cards are in sequence though.

Christmas 1991, showing the Late Gothic carved Altar at Triesen-St. Mammertus. The left and right wings, along with Madonna are portrayed. Issued December 2, 1991, Scott 970-972.
And once again, another miss, this one for LIBA '92 National Philatelic Exhibition. You'd think they'd have made more of this one to appease the crowds at the stamp show!

The theme for Europa 1992 was the 500th anniversary of the discovery of North America, at least by Europeans. Two views are shown here - old and new America.Issued March 2, 1991, Scott 979-980.
After 106 entries, on this thread, I finally made it easier on myself. Just lay a piece of coloured paper over the cards, scan, resize, upload. D'oh!

Again, 2 issues were missed before this one.

And with the Ferns, we come to the end of the maxi-cards that were in this package. They probably continued issuing them, as far as I know, missing sets here and there for some reason. I'm glad that I wasn't the only one interested in these cards.
Thanks for the views and likes!
Until next time...
