I have 5 stamps seemingly from Trieste, overprints on Italian Social Republic stamps, all reading "Trieste Rijeka 3 V 1945". I think Rijeka means "liberated" in Serbo-Croatian, which would make sense given the May 3, 1945 date.
There's nothing in Scott I can find on these. Anyone know what they are, please?

Sounds strange to me. There is a set for Istria and the coast of Slovenia inscribed 3-V-1945,but with FIUME RIJEKA + star, sun and LIRE. Perhaps you could show a picture ?

It seems there were overprints in 1945, and in my SG catalogue some are listed under Venezia Giulia and Istria. (for the allied division of TRIESTE between Italy and Yugoslavia)
There are three overprints mentioned 1.V.45 TRIESTE TRST, 3.V.45 FIUME RIJEKA, and ISTRIA The first two are described as having a 5 pointed star also . We need a picture !
