What I collect: Belgium (predominantly), British Commonwealth (older ones), WW (whatever comes my way...)

I've been unhappy with how I collect Belgian stamps for a while now, and finally decided I'm going to restart how I collect and store my stamps. I'm going to collect one of each COB numbered stamp (where possible), ignoring variations. I was driving myself mad trying to figure out if a stamp was dark brown, rust brown, black brown, which paper variant it was, etc... I've now come to the conclusion life is too short for this, and so will simplify.
Of course I've already handled a few exceptions to this - where I have unnumbered variations that are still listed in the text of COB for instance.
I also decided I will no longer collect perfins, blocks or one each of mint and used. From now on, I aim for the best quality single stamp I can get.
Now that I decided this, it lifted a huge weight of my mind, and I was able to restart ordering my collection (pics to follow). Today was the first time in months that I spent nearly a whole day stamping, and enjoying the process!

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Years ago I liked looking for varieties but with the recent large accumulation of world wide that came my way to go through I too discovered it was just too time consuming. If I were to dispose of my world wide and focus on just a few countries maybe I would change my approach. Now with my world wide I call myself a bingo collector..fill the square and move on .

Hello
I read with great interest your post about collecting Belgian stamps. I started collecting again during the pandemic and still have a lot off catching up to do.
As I looked at my album where I started out with as a child I decided to go for a worldwide collection with as goal to collect at least one stamp from each country, colony or dead country. Ofcourse this will never happen as some are to rare to find.
I would love to see which special stamps you have from Belgium.
Kind regards David

Once I start scanning in all the pages I'll be happy to share some of the more interesting ones on here... Of course, what is determined to be interesting or special is very much in the eye of the beholder!
