Hey y'all! I have resumed my interest in stamp collecting after a 50-year hiatus. I collect U.S. and U.N. (all three offices & etc.) stamps and postal stationery, and also EFOs. I love EFOs! I'm happy to be a part of this forum and I look forward to chatting, learning, and making new friends.

I inherited my interest in electricity from my father, who was an electronics tech in the federal civil service and an avid ham radio operator. Although I did not reach those lofty heights (I became a radio disc jockey instead) my knowledge of electricity continues to come in very handy, including coming up with an original username for the TSF! I was looking at scaling back some of what I was doing but as "playing coder" is one of my hobbies and I had some extra time come up so I thought I would give back to a few of the organizations I belong to. Thanks for the welcome!
EFO stands for "errors, freaks, and oddities." It refers to mistakes that happen during the making of the stamp. An example is my avatar image, showing a coil pair of a US stamp showing the "Liberty Bell." But the perforations were not properly aligned and went right down the middle of the bell. This one is in my collection. I love that kind of stuff! You can find out about EFOs at the website of the Errors, Freaks, and Oddities Collector's Club, which I belong to. On the home page is a picture of the USA's most famous (and valuable) EFO, the "inverted Jenny" (upside down airplane) of 1918 (U.S. Scott C3a). Website: efocc.org
