I purchased a used copy of "The Stamp Atlas" from a seller through abebooks. It has philatelic history of countries along with maps of colonial and modern periods. I like maps!

I remember my Dad got me that for Christmas one year in the late 80s when I was a teenager. Still have it.
There needs to be an update though, quite a bit of geopolitical change since it was published.

The primary reason for my purchase was to support from Stamp for Every Country Project so wanted to know more about the history. I chose the Malaysia area images because I collect the area. As someone who has tangentially been involved in publications, I can only imagine the time and expertise involved in creating the images. Malay States

Interesting trio of author/ collaborators. Rossiter and Flower probably did most of the work as they collaborated, with interests in stamps and geography. Stuart Rossiter left a large legacy in a Trust which still operates to provide funding for philatelic publications. It seems to operate through the auspices of the Royal Philateliic Society London. Wellsted was curator of the philatelic collection at the British Museum in 1985 , signed the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 1986 , then later that year failed to account for some valuable items missing , arrested and did some jail time !

Like djcmh, I asked for it for Christmas too and still have mine. When I saw this post yesterday it prompted me to pull my copy off the shelf and look through it again. It is still a useful resource despite being dated now.
