A tidy use of a block of 6, $1 postage due stamps on a business reply card: 300 cards at 1c postage due and 1c business reply fee.

HI Jeff,
What exactly do you mean by "300 cards at 1c postage due and 1c business reply free." I don't quite understand what you mean by that.
Cheers!

Business reply was a service whereby mailers could pay a fee plus postage on BRM items sent to them. Postage consisted, in this instance, 1 cent per post card plus 1 cent BRM fee. Thus 300 cards were charged $6.00 at pick up at the post office.

An interesting use of that block of six. David

To put this into context, when the business went to the pick-up window, they had to pay the bill for the bundle of 300 cards that were received. Upon paying, they slapped the $6 on one of the cards as a receipt to indicate the bill/account had been paid for.

khj thank you for putting this into context. I didn’t realize it was out of context. Whatever the heck that means.

Sometimes my mouse "double-clicks", causing the scrollbar to jump more than I expected and I miss out on a couple of posts. Looks like you already explained it earlier.

JeffS , I'm sure that khj was just trying to help those who only view the Forum's "recent posts" and don't navigate to the parent thread to fully understand the context of a post for which they were interested.

3 pages recently done from my Business Reply Mail collection which make order out of apparent chaos with multiple postage due stamps and pencil annotations:

JeffS, you should be able to do this yourself because you created this thread. Hit the edit button on your first post at the top of the thread and the title will be available for editing.

While putting an item away I came across this page which I have not shared before, two Business Reply Envelopes showing extremes in collecting the postage due.
Top: eight 1/2c dues, 4 cents total for 1 envelope
Bottom: plate block of 15 $1 dues, $15 total for 375 envelopes.
A mint plate block of 6 of this carries a healthy value in Scott (J77 or J77a). I see a couple offerings for used plate blocks on eBay from $50 to $100 and a pair of used $1 and $5 blocks for $69 (centering deficiencies).
These amounts make me wonder what the value of a plate block of 15 on cover would be

$14 postage due added to a business reply cards via two meters. Here is a returned business reply card because the permit was not renewed.

JeffS and smauggieThose BRM cards are the coolest things ever. I don't think I've ever used that term here yet to describe a stamp collectible so these can have it. A Business Reply card plastered with postage dues! First time I've seen that. Pretty cool presentation pieces. brookbam

Yesterday was spent with my Business Reply Mail collection. I picked up a couple of airmail Business Reply Envelopes which warranted redoing a couple airmail pages. And, I reworked the BRM post card section and am posting the revised first page of that section. The others are even more boring.
