What I collect: The World...just printing and mounting as I go...call me crazy!

I spent the afternoon cataloging my recently purchased small collection of 1940s and 50s Pakistan and was able to fill a number of spaces and upgrade a number of stamps in my collection. The first definitive set of Pakistan, King George VI India Overprinted, is now about 75% complete except for the highest values. I haven't explored prices on various sales sites and may wait until after I go to the upcoming stamp bourse on April 2 here in my home city before I look at purchasing more. Mounted, here is what these first stamps of Pakistan look like to this point.

The page above had a total of 6 stamps mounted on it including a different version of the 3a violet, Sc. no. 7. Below on the left is the stamp that was previously mounted and the stamp that replaced it on the page above. The overprint on the left is seemingly darker, smudged/blurred and even looks like the letters are slightly smaller than the one on the right. I measured, however, and both measure right around a height of 1.75mm. My first thought is that this is an over-inking issue but the more I look at it under magnification I feel like the "Pakistan" text was struck twice. Scott does not identify any varieties either in the standard 2016 catalog or in the 2009 classic specialized. Does anyone have access to either Gibbons or Michel for this area of the world that identifies an overprint variety on this stamp?

Hi Darrin, darkormex, Stanley Gibbons Commonwealth & British Empire Stamps 1840-1970 states that for this 1947 issue (Pakistan SG 1-19, SG 7 for the 3a); "Numerous provisional "PAKISTAN" overprints, both handstamped and machine-printed, in various sizes and colours, on Postage and Official stamps, also exist. These were made under authority of Provincial Governments, District Head Postmasters or Local Postmasters and are of considerable philatelic interest " Hope this helps, Daniel

Thank you daniel. Yes, that helps. This makes sense given the parting of ways from India at the time. There is a note about provisional issues but it is not as detailed as the note in SG and it does not explain that there could be so much variety to the overprints.

Here are some other provisional overprints that I have collected. They are not listed in the catalogs except as a footnote.
