As I continue to pursue printing large format pages, I'm trying to get more information on the paper Scott uses.
I now know that Scott Specialty paper is 10 x 11½ and Scott International paper is 9¾ x11½.
But I don't know the weight of the paper. I emailed Amos about it last year and they told me they use #86 paper, which I can't get any info on.
Does anyone know the weight/thickness of Scott album paged?

Hi Andy, I found this link that may be somewhat helpful. It shows the information that you need, but not for #86. It has #82 & #87, so maybe you can infer the approximate weight from there. www.jampaper.com/paper-weight-chart.asp

I was told that Scott uses 80# Text for their specialty pages. Not sure what they use on the International pages, but from personal experience with International pages, they are very inconsistent. I was not able to locate a source for 80# Text in cream that was reasonable in price, so I use this. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WW8BBGS/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1Very, very close to the 80# that Scott uses. You will have to have it cut to size though (or buy a decent paper cutter) and drill holes, or ask your local printer if they will do it.

It works quite well as a replacement for whatever Scott uses. Watch the Amazon pricing if you buy from them. Sometimes it is beyond crazy high, and then the next day it's priced reasonably.

Which is odd, because the description says it's acid free.

The Scott Specialty was about 7.1 mils. Besides thickness, another aspect is paper smoothness. Scott and Mystic paper is smoother than what I could find. I know Scott paper has changed over the years. Older pages like International were thinner than present.
Since Scott went to print on demand for many products,. I wonder if the paper or print quality have changed. For example, my laser printed pages have blacker blacks than a typical offset printed album page. The border could be preprinted but could also just print the the entire page.

I wonder if the paper or print quality have changed. For example, my laser printed pages have blacker blacks than a typical offset printed album page. The border could be preprinted but could also just print the the entire page. That's an interesting observation. Mystic recently mailed me 4 Heirloom album pages that I was missing. They obviously laser printed these pages out from a PDF. And the blacks are a LOT darker than the pages in my album. And the images have much more detail than the images in the rest of the album. Black and white offset printing is cheap and great for high volume work. And the printing is more durable laser printers that basically just melts plastic onto a page. But todays laser and inkjet printers can really give some great detail when the right printer is used. I'm sure Scott's print on demand service is just using a laser printer to print pages as needed. I do find it odd though that their print on demand items are marked as "out of stock" sometimes.
