This dragon stamp was the only one available in my hotel. It was good for mail anywhere, whether to the next town or to some remote distant exotic destination such the USA.

Next stamp.Mi.no.193 is missing. It is a definitve 10 Ch.-stamp showing the Tashichho Dzong in Thimpu, the royal residence. I nearly got this stamp from a dealer in the US.It should have been part of a shipment, but was missing. They apologized and promised to send them. That was the last I heard from them.Later mails were not answered at all.
Mythological creatures issued March 14th,1968. (Mi.194-208)

There were two s.s. (Mi.Bl.13-14).I show the s.s. with the airs only.
Interesting to me is,that the stamps of the s.s. are slightly larger (about 1 mm in width and height), than the ones from the set.
Michel notes that the stamps were produced as "Einzelherstellung",what means one by one. I have no real idea how this is done and where this leaves the s.s.
By the way: the s.s. are real "heavy stuff",weighing 10 grams each !

There are four plain souvenir sheets with this set. Issued Aug.5th and Aug.28th (airs) 1968.
Michel Blocks nos.15-8
(stamp seen from the backside)
The stamps are made of a thick, strong paper.Stronger than the paper of a postcard. Embossing makes the stamps surfaces look like real oil-paintings.

Corner of an imperforated stamp.Michel values the mint set with € 100.-,but I think that is just by error. It should be € 10.-,same as a cancelled set. That is slightly more than three times than the perforated set. There is one s.s.,exits perforated and imperforated.Same prices. Less well known are the DVDs The video from a couple of these DVDs can be found on YouTube. Here's one of them (the same user hosts the video from another DVD stamp). Ryan

There are four "stamps",what contain a CD,issued in 2008 and 2009. (I do not own any of them) The problem with them is (according to Michel): It is not possible to get the CD´s out, without damaging the "stamps". As the post-price was Nu 225.- each (around $ 5.-,cat.value € 15.- each) one better leaves the CD´s where they are. I have not yet seen a sale-offer for less than the cat.value.

"5000 years steel-production" (Mi.285-96)
One of my Bhutan favourites. Issued June 2nd,1969. I don´t know wether this is the first and only stamp series, printed on (real) steel foil. It makes the colours look very vivid. However the set-back is,that corrosion is looming. Rusty stamps require a reduced price. (Michel)

The 2ch stamp could depict metal production in Bhutan even today. I doubt there is anything past the 45ch image there.
Metalwork takes place in small huts. Mills are still used for manufacturing.

They may not be the most technical advanced nation, but Bhutan has other achievements, what are probably more important.
the airmails of the set.
On June 30th,1969 a series of 6 souvenir sheets was issued.
Although I´m looking for the set of s.s. quite a while,I could not find it. Usually I would not buy any short-sets of Bhutan,as there is virtually no chance ever to find the missing parts. Short sets are practically worthless, except if one can find a fool, who buys them. Nevertheless one can find many offers on e-bay and Co. However when I got the chance to buy the two last s.s. of this series,I went for it. So I can show the difference between the stamps of the set and those from the souvenir sheets:
Stamps from s.s. have a descriptive inscription either on the left or on the right margin. (left set-stamp,right s.s. stamp)
