Ran into this unexploded booklet (cover and back shown below). Inside it has a gummed label with a red Insured U.S.Mail sticker and a record keeping page entitled 'Record of Prepaid Domestic Insured Mail' that you use if you have to file a claim. Can anybodu supply any additional info about this item?

Can anybodu supply any additional info about this item? It was a self-service product sold through vending machines either at post offices or free-standing postal kiosks. I remember them from the 1970s I think. I even bought one. Don't have a clue where it is or if I still have it. They are Scott catalog listed if you have access to them. Also Mr Google might shed more light on the subject. Jeff

Thanks idtrue66 for the link, which certainly explained what I have. JeffS, your note about being Scott listed prompted me to re-examine the Table of Contents of my Scott Specialized where I found the entry under 'Postal Insurance Stamps'- I had been looking for 'Vended***' or 'Insurance***' and missed it. The one I have is cataloged as QI2 with a value of $4.00. Thanks to you both!
