In 1991, Monaco issued a sheetlet of 4 stamps showing the Four Seasons of the orange
Single images in sunken composite die proof format in black are know.
I have two of the designs in an imperforate "proof" form printed in a brown color on not-stamp paper.
I am unable to find any information online on these later two.
hrdoktorx I noted a reference to a Y&T Monaco catalog in a post by you a few days ago. Could you take a look to see what what info that catalog has about this issue, especially these brown (or any other color) proofs. and perhaps post a scan of the relevant page(es) Thanks, Jeff  |

Sorry, my Yvert&Tellier catalog does not mention these. In German, these are called Schwarzdrücken, but my Michel catalog also does not discuss them.

Sorry, my Yvert&Tellier catalog does not mention these. In German, these are called Schwarzdrücken, but my Michel catalog also does not discuss them. Thanks for looking. |

JeffS, I've noticed that it is possible to find proofs from many French speaking countries. The common factor being the French government printer, Imprimerie des Timbres-Poste. You can find more general information here. Daniel

daniel Thank you for the reminder. 2 months ago I had an irretrievable hard drive crash and lost everything from the last 4 years including all my bookmarked stamp sites.
