El Salvador : Revenue 1904 Details Unknown Would welcome any infor from Barefoot etc. This is listed in the 1915 Forbin revenue catalogue. There were 12 different revenue categories which used this generic design for miscellaneous revenues, a couple of which came in different sizes as well. Your stamp's revenue category translates as "records of property registration and mortgage". The stamp is listed as perf. 13, and 25 centavos is the only value for this revenue category. Catalogue value is shown as 1.50 Fr - in the French revenues I see some issues with a catalogue value as low as 1 centime. Ryan

Thanks Ryan, shows how out of step I am, after my motherboard crash. I have Forbin, was completely out of mind at the time.

1895 Postage Dues Note: (From assist Jerry B ) the 25c is whiter paper, and slightly differing colour, may be a "Seebeck"

Hi Rodney
Here is my 2 cents.
It is hard to tell if gummed, but, what is the paper thickness? These could be Seebecks. However, according to my friend's synopsis of Seebecks,"...if pristine stamps they are probably Seebecks,if "ratty" they are probably real". Yours are off centered enough to be real. However, without watermarks it comes down to paper thickness.
BTW: Notice the design for Postage dues for Ecuador, and I believe Haiti.

Jerry B Hi Jerry, glad you are around, I have a swag of "corrientes" revenues. Where would I go for information for an album page? I'll post a pic shortly. Postage dues........"Aha!" that explains the 25c differing colour, I guess that may be a Seebeck. The others... not sure, I do not have a micrometer. As you can see, they are old and well handled, the gum is yellow and hard, and most stamps are cracked in the middle, either the page was folded at some time, or an inexperienced hand cracked them when removing from a hinged page. They appear to have the thickness of a standard Machin. Argentina "corrientes" can you assist at all?

Hi Rodney
The gum on these stamps is usually very thick and cracking may be possible dependent on climate and handling.

Jerry BCan see no likeness there, Jerry. United States and New South Wales (Aust) are nearly identical BTW: being a pedant, I note Scott lists "El Salvador" under "S"

I have multiple duplicates of these stamps with different shades and design abnormalities (forgeries maybe?)
Original stamps are listed in Forbin1915 as Municipal Stamps of 1909 and 1910. I didn't find any Info online on the 1918 overprint .
Appreciate any added info .

Does anyone have a copy of the book illustrated above? The Revenue Stamps of El Salvador by Joe Ross I'm interested in what he says about the 1930 Municipal Revenue stamps. There is one on Ebay but they want $37 postage! Michael

I don't know where to ask for information because maybe Cinderellas or others. Thanks if anyone can teach me more. Hi racatrien , These are mainly cut-outs from postal stationery items except for the Timbre Municipal stamps which are revenues. The orange stamp at the top is a postage stamp. Hope this helps, Daniel
