Hi Phil - welcome to the forum of stamp collecting - am sure you will enjoy your time here - your collecting areas sound very interesting. Must congratulate you on having a wife who is 34, mine is heading toward 65 - frankly I'm thinking of chopping her in for a couple of 32s.

Welcome to our friendly forum!
I’m very unfamiliar with the areas you collect, so looking forward to learning more. Especially interested in those unusual Obock issues and the papers they used. Please do share a few pictures!

Welcome to TSF, Phil ( pscionka)! I am originally from Cleveland. I grew up mainly in the West Park neighborhood near Lakewood, Rocky River, and Fairview Park. Whereabouts are you, if you don't mind saying? Your collecting areas do indeed sound quite interesting. I have a bit of material from some of the Nigerian colonial entities such as Lagos, and Northern & Southern Nigeria. I am a WW classics collector, but recently I have been spending a lot of time on Cape of Good Hope, primary interest in triangle issues, but I have a reasonable collection of the rectangular issues, too. Enjoy your time with us! -Chris ( Beryllium Guy) US expatriate currently living in England

Welcome. I am especially glad to see another Obock collector here. Agreed -- welcome aboard! Fellow French Africa collector here (love the Somali Coast and Obock triangles). And yes, Niger Coast, Oil Rivers, etc. are of interest (haven't pulled the trigger yet, still focusing on Cameroun/AEF/Congo/Gabon).

thanks Phil - I was teasing and not remotely serious of course - as you no doubt gathered - though chopping in my oh in for a couple of 32s sounds interesting ;-);-) We need a little humour occasionally in these difficult times.
