I alsow look for best practice for placing stamps on DIY page. I use Affinity Publisher to design my pages. Regular A4 printed on both sides. I use the left side for "explanatory" things. A few examples from Albania:

Hello I love the northern countries. I've been a lot of time in north of Sweeden, i can't forget the northern light, the squirrels just outside of my hotel, and a lot of other things... I've not been so much in Denmark, but i'm pretty sure the spirit is the same Velkommen

I have always liked the idea on using the left side but the challenge is that once you put something on the opposite side it is not easy to add pages in between since the left / right get out of sync and then need to be redone. I wan into this a lot when adding pages to the commercial Mystic Stamp Album. A workaround is to print the left side on a separate page than the backside then use protective sleeves to pair them up.
