Kurland Sc 1N20/SG 1 issued April 20, 1945. In October 1944, German troops were cut off in Courland (Kurland) giving rise again to specific German overprints.

Second Latvian republic, May 4th, 1990, "precursor stationery" It shows "Freedom oak"
Second Latvian republic: June, 14th, 1991, first "regular" cover, prepared for independence (efective, September 1991), showing "Freedom statue" in Riga. FDC circulated from Riga to Leningrad (now, Saint Petersburg) The postage is, actually, paid by the Soviet stamp.
