About time a thread was started here! Would be interesting to see what others have collected from this colony which became Botswana in 1966.

Very Nice nbstamper, Keep in mind that your stamps are technically from the Bechuanaland Protectorate, a distinction from British Bechuanaland proper which became the Bechuanaland Protectorate in 1888. There is already a thread started for Bechuanaland Protectorate. Rob

A very nice groups of stamps nbstamper, thanks for sharing.
The Bechuanalands, that is British Bechuanaland, Bechuanaland Protectorate & Stellaland are one of my collecting interests, but thanks to the scarcity and high price of many of the stamps it is also the sparsest of my collections.
As REL1948 has already noted your stamps are from the Bechuanaland Protectorate which was a British Protectorate north of the the Molopo River.
British Bechuanaland was a British Colony south of the the River and was annexed to the Cape Colony in 1895.
Regrettably, both Scott and SG have numbered the Bechuanaland Protectorate stamps starting after the last allocated British Bechuanaland stamp number thus giving the mistaken impression that British Bechuanaland became the Protectorate.
As there is already a Bechuanaland Protectorate thread, perhaps a moderator could merge this thread into it.
