FDC of the 1970 Dodge Challenger dated August 25, 2022. The color is Plum Crazy. Back then, folks on the street called the color Statutory Grape. The 1970 Challenger is my favorite car, and I owned one for twelve years. Racing it down the quarter mile was a lot of fun. Picture of me with my 440 Magnum RT/SE years ago between rounds at Virginia Motorsports Park near Petersburg, Virginia.

I have a son who had a Camaro Track Car (I don't remember the exast nomenclature) He was an active member of a driving club named The Edge Addicts, who did laps agains ther own lap times (and in friendly competition with some of his driving friends) at Circuit of the Americas outside of Austin TX. I rode once with him. It was a great car. He got rid of it as he figured further upgrades would cost in the $7k range and only shave a half second from his record there. Thus he sold it.

JeffS, Your son shaving a half second off his lap time means quite a bit. But, as he knows, it would take more money to increase power output and handling characteristics of his Camaro. So I can understand the money pit involved in accomplishing such goals. Still, I imagine he had a lot of fun with his club and you got to experience a ride along with him. Can't beat that. I like the "Edge" part of the club's name. Pushing performance to its edge.😎
