1885 & 1886 - Harden Hand Grenade covers and contentI am starting this thread in order to keep things together. I have in my intro a description as to why I am here. I have a box filled with papers dating from the mid 1860's to the mid 1890's that I would like to share with folks. Here is a link to the intro. thestampforum.boards.net/thread/9822/hello-nj-welcome-steele-box In this post I would like to start off with a set of covers, content and a simple stamp to two. Thehese papers were in the box and they are from the Harden Hand Grenade Co. who mayday glass bottle fire extinguisher. These were meant to be thrown at fire should the be a=in a commercial building or at home. Please now that the overs are scarce and so ar the contents. I would like to share this will folks who are interesting in things like this. I will be posting other items here and I hope you enjoy them as well. If you have any comments at I would appreciate hearing them. Thanks, ---Mark

An interesting item for sure but overkill on the images.

An interesting item for sure but overkill on the images. Hi Jeff, I agree, once I loaded it and realized how they appeared it was entirely too many. Next time I will reduce what I post. If I knew how to remove some of these I would. Thanks, ---Mark

I beg to disagree - I’d rather see more images than too few. At least they were sized nicely and were clear. Another alternative is to make a video showing the contents of a box with a few still shots of key items. In any case, what a fascinating treasure box!

Thank you stainless, I seem to have deleted three images the wrong way so I will try it using your suggestion. Update: It worked and THANKS again!

1881 - Lowe's Opera House - Providence, RIThe one envelope contained a letter and also the broadside you see for the Lowe's Opera House. The one thing I would like to point out is that at the very bottom it mentions "The Great Herrmann" who happened to be a famous magician. From what I had been told is that "The Great Herrmman" rivaled Harry Houdini during his time. ---Mark "The Steele Box"
