1971 saw the 50-year celebration of the construction of the Alaska-Canada (ALCAN) highway. I struck a deal with postal history dealer Allan Steinhart to produce a few sets of cachet covers for the event to be postmarked at the locations offering pictorial postmarks. I don't think I made more than 12 sets (+/-), thus we each got 6 (or so) sets. I provided the artwork, twisted the arm of a printer vendor for my business, and Allan provided the stamps. A suitable number was sent to each office with a postmarking request. Two postmarks were available depending on the post office, a rather unweildy hand cancel and the Klussendorf. I have one set left in my personal memento box. This bottom cover is unusual as the stamp is a cutout from a stamp booklet cover.
