Before our TSF Admin or Moderators have time to put the EZStamp posts in this newly created thread I thought: 1) why not show that a stamp collection Software not only does "inventories", but also connects with Albumgen, another non costly addition of theirs (one of many) and help you create your Custom pages (which are kept in memory in case you wish to modify them or re-do) 2) I show you 2 pages created a few years ago. They are simple (not Flamboyant !), contain nice Ivory Coast stamps (even a SON added to a Gen Louis Faidherbe 5c. The only details that were of interest during those days were a) description of the stamp, imported from EZStamp b) Scott #, also imported. All the boxes were created during the transfer from one program to the other, automatically. I ask your comprehension on the 1st page as the mounting has to be re-done BTW all my Ivory Coast pages can be found in the thread - Ivory Coast or Côte d`Ivoire ! My collection of this french colony - classics - is complete ! René

I have a question. This may sound minor, but it's driving me a little bit nuts. How do I get the cursor back to the first field, the one that is labeled Scott #:? Like if I'm finished with a record, I'd like to just hit a key and zip back to Square One. I can't find the keystroke (it may be hidden under some descriptor I'm not interpreting correctly), and I can't even shift-tab back up to that top line. Yeah, I can click on it, but using the mouse is a time sink, and it aggravates my arthritic thumb 1 more than keystrokes do. As the Beach Boys once said, I know there's an answer! _____ 1 Yeah, I've got arthritis in my thumb. I know that it sounds like a problem for people who don't have any problems to complain about. And I know I'm lucky I don't have it in my ankles. But I don't type with my feet. I'm good, but I'm not that good.

I have another question.
This evening I was playing around with "Power Search". using as my target every stamp in every file that has the category "Authors / Writers".
It seemed to work fine, but it would only display the list in an unprintable spreadsheet-type format. The data browser didn't recognize the "Global" command and only searched the file I had opened. Is there a way of getting this information in a printable format? Is there a way of getting the stamnps with this tag, in all the countries that have stamps with this tag, into a separate file that I can treat just like a country file?
Thanks.

Hi renden , I do have the manual, and I've even read a fair amount of it . It's quite good as far as software manuals go. I've found about a million keystrokes I can activate, but none that do what I wanted - unless I'm just not reading the description correctly. As for copying records into a new data list, I haven't found that either. I can copy records, but not the way I want to; EZStamp seems to be closely aligned with by-country data lists and so far I'm unable to find how to get a country of origin into the new data list, which would be based on a topic, not a country. Without it telling me which Scott 1513 I just plonked into "Writers on Stamps", I'd be kind of out to sea. I guess I'll have to call Marios one of these days.

I have been using EzStamp since it was a DOS based program. Over the years Marios has developed the program and, what I call a System to track incoming purchases, inventory with great detail and build a album most any collector would admire. I use EzStamp for detailed inventory, EzImage for stamp image work, and AlbumGen to design and print pages. EzStamp supplies the collector with many, many stamp images and all of the pertinent stamp info. Unfortunately there is no program, pre-printed pages or album binders that will suit all collectors. We have too make the best of the tools we have at or disposal.
In a nutshell, hopefully, I collect allot of items that are not standard stamp shapes. Mainly world stamps with selvage, and without, full sheets and souvenir sheets. Most of which are not provided for in any pre-printed albums. Therefore I am able to scan, manipulate the image very quickly to add it to the detailed inventory and prepare an album page for most any situation.
Most of my time these days is spent adding inventory to the system. I think that this system has taken my collection to a much higher level then ever. I still use my old index card system for quick "acquired" look see.
My advise to anyone considering the EzStamp "system" or current users would be to watch the videos, of which there are many, that Marios has posted on YouTube. I refer to them when ever I need a quick reminder or first time efforts.

Hi renden
In your thread I make the following offer.
There is a lot of stamp software for making Album pages, Inventories, etc. There are cases where one wants software that is not "commercial". In some instances software for MicroSoft Office packages (Word, Excel, etc..)
The offer: For Windows only operating systems. If anyone wants software for any application, I am offering my services (50+ years computer software consulting and development) to create (using VB.NET & VBA) the required software. All that is needed is a write-up describing the software's function(s). Interfaces to software packages can also be written. It depends on the software.
Contact me via this messaging system withe what one wants.

Hi @jerry B !
Am happy with the suite offered by EZStamp and have no intention to start a new stamp software. Even the new version of AlbumGen (Albumgen3), bought a few months ago is a "nightmare" to tame -Am waiting for Youtubes for help as the 300+ page manual does not help me.....I must be getting "older" !!
Thanks for your offer - René

Rene, I also received v3 of AlbumGen and find it very similar to the v2. Have produced many pages since receiving the new version, in many ways it is light years ahead of v2. Just keep plugging away you’ll break through.
