Looking at the current US Stamp Program listing on Linn's as of 14 March 2023, so far there has not been any announcement of a stamp issue to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. For those not familiar with the event (ex Wikipedia) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Tea_Party In 1973 the Bicentenary of the event was celebrated by the USPS with a se-tenant block of four stamps Now the USPS does tend to have a round of new stamp issue announcements later in the year for issues in the last part of a year, but it seems kind of surprising that there has been nothing mentioned regarding an issue marking what was the trigger that started the chain of events that would lead to the outbreak of conflict in Massachusetts in 1775 (Concord and Lexington) and the eventual Declaration of Independence in 1776. I would think that there would be several issues marking key events leading to the Declaration of Independence anniversary in 2026 much as there was in the 1970s, but so far we have had almost nothing. Do you think we will see an issue for the Tea Party 250th Anniversary this year?

This was exactly my fear, that we'd see nothing in terms of historic event stamp commemorations like we did for the Bicentennial. Those Bicentennial stamps were what got me hooked.

I'm still waiting for the USPS to issue a stamp for the Edenton Tea Party so Grandpa Tom's ol' lady will have her own stamp.
Edited to add: I just clicked on the Wiki link and noticed it referenced Edenton. You'll see the image that was published in a newspaper over in England. They lady signing the document is supposed to represent Penelope Barker, wife of Thomas Barker (my 7th great-grandfather).

Seems like the USPO is more interested in making Comic book character stamps, Chinese New Year, Flags and etc. But historical celebrations as mentioned the Tea Party, and real Christmas stamps, not cartoon characters on the Christmas stamp. So many things that should be memorialized by a stamp could fill a whole album. Maybe for those of us who belong to the APS should send some comments about the lack of proper stamps not being printed by the USPO. Although from what I understand the APS is fairly toothless when it comes to making suggestions to other organizations. I am sure the Postmaster General DeJoy is so not interested in what people want that would be a waste of time. The committee that decides is also rather non-responsive to ideas about what should be published. That is the state we are currently in.

There wasn't a British one either. A google search reveals an informative website by USPS, 'The Citizen's Stamp Advisory Committee', which provides comprehesive information on how US stamps are chosen. about.usps.com/who/csac/It appears to be quiet easy for anyone to nominate their own suggestions.

I do not think much of the USPS issues these days. It is less on history and more on colorful labels.
My comment is related the other thread on stamps as a way to study history.
