Scott 215 is the unwatermarked version of the 1d Princess Elizabeth, 1947-1953. My ACSC details that 246bd is the coil perf (Pair with large and small holes). I have one of these joined pairs in my collection: You should be able to see that the vertical perforations start with two "smaller" holes, followed by 10 of the larger holes, then two smaller holes at the bottom. This is better seen on the back scan. I just picked up a joined strip of 4, that is slightly different. Here, the perf holes are all of a larger size, and the joined line is such that the perforations do not extend into the overlapping area:
ACSC lists that "False" coils made up from sheets with normal perforations also exist. Could this be one of the false coils? If so, any idea of a value for this strip? Just for fun, I made an overlay on top of a section of a block of four (below). Though difficult to see, I scanned all at the same time and resolution, then snipped out sections to overlay. Under the letter "A", you have the normal small/large coil strip. Under the letter "B", you have the normal pattern from a standard block of 4. Under "C" you have my suspect item which appears as all uniformly punched holes, all of the same rough size. All of these holes are about the same size as the standard block of 4 and not quite as big as the "large" perforations found in the coil strip. The idea was to compare the vertical rows below A to B to C and look for differences. It looks like the C perforations are all about the same size as the B, though they could be slightly larger. Anyway, probably a futile attempt, but any thoughts?

I played with it a little more. Still, not easy to understand, but all scans were done at once. The three "A" columns were different sections of a standard Block of 4. The single B column is the middle of the known Coil Pair. The two C Columns are two different sections of the Unknown coil of 4. The left C is from the left, while the right C is from the right of this strip of 4 (when viewed from the back). To me, the C's appear to be different sizes, but that could easily be explained by punching through sheets at different heights. Still, I wonder if this is from the "False Coils" or something else.
