I recently received a Newsletter from Maison Calves (France stamp expert) Since the color is difficult to identify on scans, here are some tricks for identifying this rare stamp. I took over the images and I hope they help you. The bottom left corner is rounded or broken: On the back of the stamp the border line(s) is visible (not always): If the lower left corner is straight, you can give up: Stan, stainlessb, I couldn't find the thread with your 1c Sage stamp and I hope it is with a rounded or broken corner.

I will go ook, but I would be greatly surprised if anything in my possession truly is a Prussian Blue. In fact, I omitted it completely, but it's always fun to go back and look again with new information in hand! Thank you gstamps

rod222, I also looked for this stamp on the net. I found on the Ceres website 1c certified Prussian blue. (YT#84) Check the rounded lower left corner: I was hoping that this detail could eliminate the YT#83 stamps (1c on blue, azure, cobalt, etc.) but I found a Specimen YT#83 stamp with the same rounded corner: And a YT#83 block that seems to have a sharp corner (insufficient resolution for a correct assessment):

The Clock face of London's "Big Ben" is Prussian Blue. Regarding the French Stamp, I am a bit of a "wuss", I have it in the "too hard basket" I probably will never own one, and if I did have a suspect, I would simply send away for certification. This also shows the "broken left corner" !
