I am hoping for a little more translation help. This time, even though the postal card was sent from Yokohama, Japan to Austria, the language of the short note on the picture side, is written in French. Let me know if I am wrong and also, any help with translation would be great. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your post, Darrin ( darkormex) I don’t think that the writing is in French, despite the inclusion of the word “je.” Looking at the accent marks, I am guessing it is either written in Czech or Slovak. That would also make sense because what later became Czechoslovakia would have been part of Austria-Hungary at the time. I don’t know if we have any members who speak Czech or Slovak, but anglobob is knowledgeable about Austria-Hungary town names, so perhaps he can comment.

Beryllium Guy, thank you. That makes sense. It is definitely hard to identify a town name. It looks like Cola but then there is another town name crossed out in pencil and what looks like R. Rarl VI penciled in. Is it a name of a town or a person?

Those are ship names of the Austrian Navy. SMS Radetzky and SMS Kaiser Karl VI at the Pola naval base.

The addressee is named as "imperial and royal [k.k.]] sailor [Matrose] on HMS Radetzky" (changed to HMS Emperor [K.] Karl IV)".
The short text is written in Czech. The first - legible - words read: "Why don't you write about...". (I cannot identify the rest of the handwriting).

This has added a lot of information I would not have been able to figure out on my own.
