As my brother perfs14 said, a lovely cover. Approximately 30,000 covers were carried on this first flight. The flight was first planned for June 1934, but was delayed until July 1934. Retail price in Australia for one of these covers with a similar attractive franking is over $40.

Can someone enlighten me on how the postage charge was paid for this cover?
It appears that the Australia postage only carried the cover to Papua where additional postage (Papua) was added in Port Moresby to carry it onward to the U.S.
Or where the Papua stamps applied in Australia but not postmarked until the cover got to Port Moresby?
And lest I forget, great cover Jack!
