Bhutan 1971 Lenticular (3d) Automobiles. Even listed in Scott, 128-128S Click on Me Crude, but innotive idea in the history of philately, they were amongst the first, followed by Cork stamps, stamps of metorite dust, woven, scratch and smell etc & etc They would have been a real super novelty, their biggest failure was their inability to retain a postmark. They defy any sort of mounting, and appear mainly in "Phossick boxes" at auction, they attract a few comments before being tossed back in the box. Perhaps in the classification "epic fail"

Perhaps in the classification "epic fail" Have a look at the catalogue values for Bhutan's phonograph record stamps. You won't be finding any unloved copies of those lurking in the bottom of a phossick box! Ryan

In 2008 Bhutan moved on to CD-ROM stamps. The second issue is shown below. The Coronation CD features historic events such as the coronation and the new constitution. See the Bhutan webpage for this issue here: www.bhutanpostagestamps.com/Scan_20200802 by Daniel, on Flickr

Here are my two Phonograph stamps from 1973, the 3NU purple and the 9NU yellow. As Ryan says, they are quite valuable now but it appears they were too gimmicky for Stanley Gibbons who don't list them! This usually means that they weren't generally available in Bhutan(?)

A first day cover for the Apollo Moon Landing in 1969, although issued on 3rd November 1969. Apart from the postmark, top left, the 3-D laminated stamps, at first glance, don't appear to have been cancelled. In fact an embossing device has been used which you can make out from the reverse.
