Here's a revenue stamp from Berar Province, which at the time was British in administration but under the formal sovereignty of Hyderabad. Be that as it may, Queen Victoria got her picture on the stamp, not the Nizam of Hyderabad. Ryan

I'm assuming this is India from the denomination. Appears to be a government telegraph stamp? Can anyone confirm?

1897 Telegraphs From what I gather, the Telegraph form sheet was perforated in half, the bottom half given as receipt. The Telegraph stamps were adhered across the perforations, thereby giving receipt of payment when the sheet was then torn / cut in half Hence the stamps are normally seen cut in half. Stamp cancellations BOMBAY and JHIND (state) and a dated example.

A nice little (sort of big) 1-anna pair of Vickis, from the general revenue series that was in use from 1869 into Edward VII's reign: (As always, subject to correction.)
